Based on my reading of Descartes’ “Letter of Dedication,” “Preface to the Reader,” and “Synopsis of the Following Six Meditations,” his objective and method for demonstrating the existence of God and the Human Mind, and the distinction between the mind and body, is audacious. Rather than basing his rationale in theology, he attempts to demonstrate their existence from a philosophical, scientific point.
