Slower start, I was really waiting for the magic but I'm starting to see that groundwork

I recently heard these book described like cookbooks - you read the recipe to give yourself a starting point then meddle. That metaphor has already made this far more enjoyable to read because I'm not taking what the author says as pure gospel.

This is such a strange novel

Weird world building

Weird and creepy so far. No idea how I stumbled on this but I am fascinated.

I was having a hard time picking my next book. Not gonna lie... the tongue and cheek content warning got me.

Okay this is a lot better this time around. I think the protagonists in this book are just so startlingly bad at communicating when the last three books they were fairly good at talking things out that it left a bad taste in my mouth. The spicy bits are still weird for me but can be flipped past fairly quickly.

I started reading the next book but realized the politics were evolving in ways I'd have to play catch up so I'm giving this another go. Now n=knowing what I am dealing with, I'm starting to take a higher interest in these two

Okay... WTF where is this leading

K.... all signs point to one location and I am beyond curious if I'm about to get flipped or what!

Again the instant intamcy feels fast BUT, it feels more genuine this time around

Okay this protagonist stands out from the prior two already

The chemistry doesn't feel as earned this time

My first "found evidence but very interesting.

Listening for a "Smut Shaming Panel" I'm running soon, but I have to say... this is fantastic thus far.

Reading for research and I'll be real... this in interesting already but I'm so uncomfortable
