Loving the book, buuut shorter chapters please!! 😂 today’s chapter = 100 pages.

I’m so sorry Haley… the writing is… not great. Why are there so many metaphors and similes? The diction/vocab?! How has tectonic plates been used twice already? And very much tell over show. 😔 I went in very open but this needed more honest feedback before it was published. It’s a decent storyline (so far), just needs work on the writing. I also felt nothing with the grieving… 😩

I feel bad because I usually don’t judge anyone — but HOW did this get such high ratings? It’s truly awful writing. I’m only finishing this because I told myself I wouldn’t DNF in December. Can’t wait for this to be over and I’ll probably never ever ever read another Lauren Roberts book. SHOW DONT TELL!!!! And STOP repeating 1,000 different words. A. W. F. U. L.

I hate her writing so much.
Why is she repeating certain words per page?!
One page it’s the overuse of silence. Then blood. The eyes. Then hair. Then manners.

How many times can we hear that their eyes are blue or her hair is silver?!!

Ugh. I already want to DNF this. The writing. 💀 stop TELLING us and just show us. How did this get so popular?! I must be missing something. I don’t care that I’m barely in the book yet. Kai’s first chapter was basically a badly organized list of things Lauren Roberts wants us to know about him.

Not sure I can make it 450 more pages. Learn how to write! Or pay an editor.
