I am so close to DNF-ing this book.

Is she not curious about her father and the Sheriff? What they assume about her fate/demise?

Does she wonder if her captors already know her identity? Does it never cross her mind that they could have allowed the carriage to past but had attacked it instead?

No. This girl doesn't THINK. Where's the urgency?

We finally get her age. She's 24.

Oof. Not off to a great start. We're getting exposition from a Fae about the different groups of fae. If humankind and Fae have been enemies for centuries, you would think the Fae would keep this information close to the chest, so that a human doesn't go running off and telling the world how to target them. Wtf.

"Even though I had not had years of training lore, I knew plenty abour dragons. No one loved dragons more than me." Sure...

There are many unanswered questions, but I'm having a hard time pushing through these chapters, which should be exciting but they're not..

I'm just a girl. Ofc I love it when Death is personified.

If the MMC is not redeemed by the end of this book, I will shelf him aways as the worst MMC. It does not matter how kind you are if your morals are deplorable.

I don't understand what she was hoping to achieve... She fooled herself into thinking she could control her emotional outbursts or curb her impuslive actions, but truly, she didn't reasonably think anything through.

Can we all breathe a sigh of relief for women who no longer wants to be held down, dumb down, and put down, so that a man can feel like a man in a relationship? Yes.

I absolutely love this book.

I am really liking this. It's too early to say, but this might be a five-star read.
