Dry, lackluster. I turned to this because I had to wait for the library to open back up again because it just isn't remotely exciting to see the same loveless marriage play out in each short story. I started the book at least 10 years ago and have so far refused to DNF it (especially since I only got past the first story a few days ago).

DNF at page 171. They lost me when the trees became voices beckoning to Olivia. Was already having a hard time with all the characters and overkill descriptions of nature, but wanted to get to the Pulitzer winning part. Maybe if it were 200 pages shorter.
