I didn’t realize this book would be funny too. A description of a Sauvignon Blanc - “asparagus fart-water with extra grapefruit “ - 😂.
To be fair - I am skimming past the more technical stuff coz I don’t care.

Love Henry’s word choices. Especially like how Alice is remembering an interview she did with her dad and his description about the 3 times in his life he felt true wonder.
This read feels good after my last two reads.

The way you recognize something… “by the shape of its skeleton”…… 😬

I really love the authors use of words. “Your mother and I both have a small shard of glass in our hearts where the other is concerned…… this helps pry it loose.”

I got to chapter 21 and I’m switching to audio as a last ditch effort for this book to not end up on my DNF shelf.

I’m struggling getting into this one. This was one of the books on the GR summer reading challenge. TBH that might be the only reason I push through.

Wow - quite the introduction. I’m excited to start this one.

I love Daphne!! Although I am a bit afraid - for my friends and family’s sakes - that I am going to be her at that age. 🤣

I’m find this book pretty easy to walk away from. Not exactly a glowing endorsement. I’m hopeful though….

I might finally have earned the right to hope again.

Wow - another really strong book!

I’m enjoying this one. Which I admit is surprising me.

Said Sally “time is that which God uses to separate the idol from the industrious“… Oh Sally I think you’re missing the point here.

That was what policing a small town felt like some days….. just a janitor tasked with picking up the pieces of someone’s broken life

Love Cosby’s use of words.

This one is gonna be a tough one. But I like Cosby’s writing style and I’m enjoying his use of colloquialisms.

This book - not an easy one or a fast one - but wow! Such a great one!

I love that! Beautiful words from this author!

Haha— sounding like a fun night ahead.

I’ve already added 5 books to my Want to Read list just based on what Sybil and Rosalie are reading or have read.
The letter that Sybil wrote to Diana Gabaldon - the author got a chuckle out of me with that one.

And here I sit - fat, dumb and happy and bam!

Only at chapter 4 and I already adore Theo, “an exquisitely handsome 86 year old man “ 😍

This is a true story. The writing style is awkward and the tale outlandish in the “no way anyone fell for that kind of way.” She states how the tale developed when she wrote “ one of the things I seem to intuitively know was to allow people to convince themselves. Hold back and they will fill in what most appeal to them.”
