For a day may come when it will be up to us to give an account of the fraud and mockery to the living—to speak for the dead.” Page 115-116 This quote is chilling to me when you think about today’s geopolitical climate and how quick world leaders are to threaten nuclear wars and in many other ways they toy with people lives.

I’ve read 4 stories so far. The first was the best then the 2nd. I love his writing.

Fabian just told Cornelia goodbye, she left him to go sleep with a movie director in order to maybe get a change at acting they talked about it and they went their seperate ways. That night he went home to that random woman he met the night before when Cornelia left and he ate dinner that she cooked him but then her husband came home and tried to fight him and so Fabian left and went home. I’m at the part where Fabian just left the club where he ran into Frau Moll and she was making a fool of herself. Fabian is discussing his disillusionment with work and society and why he doesn’t have ambition. He feels as if he is waiting to be called up to go to war again, a feeling of uncertainty of what’s going to happen to Europe next, what will become of him and his future ? Or Germanys future.
