The middle east was such a fascinating place. all of this information from this book is new to me but it’s crazy how i can learn so much from topics im already familiar with. they skip so much in school

there’s so much to unpack when it comes to religion in india— so many forms of buddhism and hinduism. though sex was definitely a factor in both, this was much more religious content heavy.

I really don’t hate her writing anymore— it’s definitely for a certain mood and brain capacity. Like in the morning when your brain is fresh and can notice the little things. (Though, dialogue is still insufferable).
The way she describes her life is very poetic— she is a great poet— that’s what makes this book interesting. It doesn’t feel like a real novel with a straight chain of events.

Doc McGees chapter is iconic.
