Sethe killed Beloved in the shed (meant to kill all of her children) before the school teacher found them and took them back to Sweet Home-- instead she was imprisoned with her youngest: Denver.
Her black eyes stood out to me.
Also who TF is Stamp Paid?

there must be something more sinister about sweet home than how baby suggs sees the Garners... why are they so humane? and why does Paul D and Sethe see it so differently?

I have a hunch that not only beloved is a ghost (both denver and sethe know but keep this to themselves) but i think she is a ghost that stole a child’s dead body parts

also sethe has some very interesting and karmic luck… i wonder if this has anything to do with Denver as well

At the part where they fully explain denver’s birth
- Paul D: good intentions, sort of 6th sense, protection
- Sethe: almost avoidant, loves her family and hard ass
- Denver: sort of ungrateful and selfish, wants a sister, found out she’s 18
- Beloved: bewitched odd energy, life sucking
- Amy: still unsure why she helped Sethe

Grace gave me this book in appreciation of my curiosity, It is fun to pick up every one and a while for a couple of minutes and learn that someone has taken the time to make up words to explain the feelings that feel unique to you.

It's so sweet how Tommy talks about her and Pamelas relationship, flawed but so real. The way he talks about wanting kids and protecting his wife from exploitation and public scrutiny. Even though they had a rough relationship (mostly due to outside influences) he talks about her so highly.

Beginning of Medieval period in Europe, switch from hating women to courtly love inspired by Arabs in Spain and the crusades of holy land. I think I will like this chapter.
It’s crazy how the Europeans took the longest of any other civilization (by far) to even recognize women as anything more than an incubator. Most of other civilizations obviously didn’t respect women but never to the european extent
