this is probably my 3 or 4th reread. Annotating this time! mostly annoyed with Fitz, because even from the start he's not supportive and always subtly judging her soooo. Also doing this reread to lead up to reading unraveled!!

I got an arc of this book and it's so good already

"..."No one could know that this was "better" than dying. They can't tell people after they have been unwound, how awful it was to know parts of you are stripped away. Knowing the table is slowly decreasing, that eventually you lose your sight, your hearing. Just knowing what they are doing, unable to do anything about it. The author managed to make me cry over a character I had previously hated.

love the hating on men of this book, it's well established how they treat her, without being explicit about it all. Just what she remembers, the hairs of the chair. His hands.

what. idk if i should be crying rn or not. how is that going to work??? ahhhhhh

it's either really good foreshadowing that we picked up on that detail, or slightly bad writing for making it soooo obvious. I'm more excited we got it right, and we all noticed when vi didn't say something out loud per say. I'm conflicted. cause that one cadet was killed, so we all knew it would be important later on. I guess I didn't think a theory like this so easily made by fans would actually be true.

the emphasis on how color reflects off andarna is interesting..

this may be a dnf i'm just really not getting into this book yet (30 pages in and I usually can tell)
