Calling it quits at 48%.

Some of the lines are really poignant. I went in with very high hopes. But I don’t feel any tension or chemistry between our main characters. The plot is slow, and so much doesn’t make sense for their setting.

DNFing at 49%.

While I do appreciate a messy story, this particular brand of mess just isn’t going to work for me this time. A friend peaked ahead to see what the conflict would be, and I just don’t care for that.

That combined with some of the cringy spice scenes, “ick” words for me, and some forced moments, I just don’t want to continue.

This is actually very funny. I like the writing.

That said, I’m going to DNF. Not because it’s bad, it’s just not for me!

I knew going in that it would be outside my comfort zone, but it just went too far for my personal beliefs! So I’m calling it.

Again, not because it’s bad writing. Not even that I’m not enjoying it. The story is just not for me. But SO many funny lines up to this point!

I wouldn’t say this is bad, exactly. It’s just not holding my attention like I need it to. There has been heavy content, but the way it’s written makes it not feel…heavy enough?

I’m so freaking sad for Indya. Every few pages I want to cry. Loving this so far.

Ehh…it’s so meh. They have no chemistry. So many phrases being used repeatedly.
