A flight home and time enough to devour another 10% of this behemoth!

I’ve heard that people think this one is more slow/boring because of its backstory but personally I’m so excited. What we’ve gotten so far has been enough to leave me wanting MORE!

Right from the onset I’m hooked!! Please Stephen I need to sleep!!

The “Argument” summarizes The Gunslinger. Having just read the previous novel this was like watching the highlights reel and debriefing the most important plot points and sets up the premise for this story as well.

I am super glad to be picking back up with Roland right where we left off. Fitting it picks up just 7 hours after book one ends; I think I’ll start the rest in the same time!

I knew this was a shorter read going into it - I was also warned that its a little confusing as it sets up some of the frame for the rest of the series but I am not having any issues at all!

I missed King's writing; the bleak landscape and dire circumstances are some of what he does best! Its not necessary to read The Stand first but having done so I see and feel the tendrils connecting the two!

I promised more than 1 person I’d definitely read this series but I needed to make sure I had the time and bandwidth to dedicate to it! Now that the PhD is done and behind me it’s time to embark.

So far. It’s reading very King - which I am so happy to get back to. Already echoing the stand which I am thankful I read first!! The grimdark moody atmosphere and hints of lore are pulling me along already!

Reading on the bus each morning has been a gamble IFYKY this book is surreal and the emotions and action can change on a dime. Phenomenal writing giving almost stream of consciousness with a lot of raw emotion and connection. I have some ideas on the ending but it’s so hard to tell with this book!
