I am loving the characterization. Baxter may get a bit involved with the details, but he does it in a way that builds his characters and environments.

This is another interesting Hercule Poirot story. Much like a Father Brown tale, Poirot does not enter the story until several chapters into the story.

An elderly matriarch is murdered and it is up to Poirot to figure out who-done-it, as well as how it was done. The author provides the clues, but can you solve the mystery before he does? I did not.

This was such a fun read. The 50's was a big decade for the Superman world. It saw the introduction of Superboy, Krypto the Superdog, and Kara Zor-El-Supergirl. This volume, by no means, includes all of the Superman issues of the decade, but only some of the most important, like the ones presenting the characters previously mentioned, and other influential issues. The art is very 50's and nostalgic.

Other than the disjointed, uncomfortable use of present tense storytelling, the book is getting better. I find myself very interested in each of the characters in all three time settings.

I have only read the first 2 chapters, but am already drawn into the plot and the characters. I am not a fan of stories told in the present tense. It seems very awkward and disjointed, However; I think this present tense is a device for only part of the story.

Pretty good so far, except for the unnecessary language that seems out of place for this story.

This is an interesting Adventure that takes place not long after the events in the Tomb Raider reboot video game. It was fun, adventurous, and felt like a Tomb Raider story.

Now this is what Last Shot should have been like. Rae Carson has a real grasp of the characters, and spins a good yarn. If the finale is as good as what I've read so far this is getting 5 stars from me.

Loved the way this opened. It had me doing mental cartwheels.
