This book is a doozy… not a pleasant topic, to learn about the misuse/mismanagement of a global platform (Facebook) but an important and very informative read.

Listening to the audiobook on Libby. Thank goodness for Sparknotes… I’m barely 5% of the way in and beed chapter summaries to recap.

This is one of the most important books published in 2025. Wow! Just finished the chapter where Zuck finally realizes that Facebook is responsible for Trump’s 2016 election win.

Attempted the audiobook (I want the Spine Tingler bookmark on GoodReads) I’m struggling to follow the plot via audio and have re-listened to the opening chapter twice. 😆 The story is excellent, but I think I’d do better reading a physical copy.

I’m worried the father character may be the reason I DNF this book. Stay tuned. Very obnoxious character and I’m only at the beginning…

I was on a private jet with Mark the day he finally understood that Facebook probably did put Donald Trump in the White House, and came to his own dark conclusions from that.”

Reading to achieve the “spine tingler” reading challenge on Good Reads 🤓 I probably would not read this otherwise.

Heavy topic - I think I will need to reread it a second time to piece my thoughts together.

I really dislike and distrust Mr. Rochester. 😅

Continually finding myself laughing out loud at Steinbeck’s prose. So good. 🥰 My students were right - I might be crushing on John Steinbeck.

Saw this on a shelf at Barnes and Noble and couldn’t resist… a talented author walking me through her writing process? Sign me up.

Steinbeck is quite possibly my favorite author of all time. I’m catching myself smiling and laughing at his prose. I want to document a quote on this page that I think illustrates his genius and why I’m so drawn to his writing:

“I who love words and the endless possibility of words…. The idioms, the figures of speech that make language rich and full of the poetry of place and time…”

It’s a really interesting story so far. I’m very excited about how the author pushes literary (and grammatical) boundaries with her prose. There will be a full page of dialogue without any punctuation. The formatting is really unique. I’m still at the very beginning, but my interest is piqued.

During a time of political unrest, with government officials seeking to erase the existence of trans people, it’s vital that we seek out these stories. This book makes me laugh out loud several times per chapter, which is a rarity for me. There is nothing more dangerous than “othering” people - read good literature to see the world from other viewpoints.
