They’re gearing up for a romance with Frankie and Henry Acevedo but i don’t see why i should care about him… every time i meet him he’s just… there…. Like what about him is supposed to make me like him

Bruh I’m so frustrated with reading this book right now. Her parents and everyone else being assholes, white rich boys getting out of the war, people not believing women are in Nam. Now she just got fired…

I am so angry how people & how her parents are treating her since coming home from war.

They have a great we sense of humor. I love Jamie Callahan. I love that they’re mentioning what music they’re listening to. I love that they dance for fun. Need more of that. War is disgusting & I hate it. I love Ethel. Frances mom is funny. “Free love girls” i seriously love these little glimpses of what life was like around this time. I can’t stop googling.

Hooch - makeshift shelter originated in Vietnam war

Chapter 5. It’s May 1966. She just got to Saigon. Had to google to wrap my brain around what’s going on… north Vietnam- communist, south Vietnam - against communism. US gets involved to fight communism basically. We lose. North Vietnam captured Saigon (capital of south Vietnam). They actually renamed Saigon to honor their communist leader… that’s crazy. Would love to visit Vietnam tbh.
