Bit slow of a start. So far I can REALLY hear John Green's voice in this (and it's odd to hear the voice of a 40+ year old man in a 17 year-old girl.) I can see how some may not like this one, the spiraling is a bit tedious to read.

I have spend months trying to read this, I just can't get up the urge. The chraracterization is just so stilted.

This book is just too much. I don't think I can force myself to read anymore of it. There are too many puns; my brain is about to leak out my ear.

Addicting so far. Creative and lyrical and moving.

I'm not sure why I started a personal novel when I have an unimaginable amount of stuff to read for college, but here we are... I don't make great life choices.

This is the part of the book where I want to DNF it.

The plot is so slow and characters frequently go off track with page long backstories that are fully unnecessary and immersion breaking. Characters often get out of character, and the chapter viewpoints all sound forced and from the same point of view.

Putting this one aside for now. There is too much telling and not enough showing, the characters aren't pleasant to read about, and it feels more like a vampire/zombie apocalypse story than one about magic and witches. Also, the number of times someone over the age of 16 is called "boy" or "girl" by someone over the age of 16 is very tiring... I may give it another try later, but for now, it's going into DNF.

Hmm so far this feels like fanfic (nothing wrong with fan fic!) but it's sloppy, repetitive, and not objective when it comes to character discriptions (we are basically told how to feel about each). This is a debut author so I'll give it a bit more time.

Reads like poetry. An epic. The main character's experiences with "love" are a bit unsettling in their vagueness. Perhaps "love" expressed to her from men is just lust and her understanding of it is non-existent (she does allude to this at times.)

Hmmm... A lot of inconsistencies and plot holes... I gave a bad feeling anout the redt of this one.

So far I have suspended belief to over capacity. This story is too entrenched in reality that the missing elements (or wrong ones) stick out too much. The pacing is fine, but every time I expect to like a character it swaps to the other of the main two. What began as a deep story of pain, love, gaming, and relationships has turned septic. Maybe the last half will redeem itself.

Bit of a slog to get through. Too much exposition still. Too much hinting and explaining emotions. But it's good when you exit the slog. Hopping for a better second half.

Huge slog till the 30th mark with way too much exposition and info-dumping. Got much better after that (though not perfect.)
