long story but friend showed this to me in crossword, i dont do poems but i was genuinely shocked at the premise and then the first poem just cemented i HAVE to buy this but the copy was damaged so we check crosswords website and it was at 50% off ????
also why have i never heard about this book? and how does it have a rating of 4.18 on goodreads thats insane
anyways every line is delicious i love experimental books

i know a weird book hatessss to see me coming but genuinely i think i need to switch genres after this one to keep things interesting

the use of a 'dual persona' and weird dreams was sooo good and the WRITING(!!!!)

i really wasnt expecting a 5/5 story from this (mostly) middling book but omg this was insane and weird and ACTUALLY had something to say and omg endlessly quotable and THE WRITING (!!!!)
i also thought it was interesting to name this the king bcs u think the mc is a man but then 2 pages later u realise its a woman and all of the mc's idiotic qualities feel subversive

its so weird, we dont know everything but JUST enough to get through the story, loved the writing too

very interesting and would be amazing as a full length novel but unfortunately left too many unanswered questions

at this point in any book, i start to form an opinion, or at least i know how i feel about a book but i just cant really say anything about this
everyhting in this unpredictable and i just dont know where any of this is going
what i CAN say is that i had nightmarish flashbacks to reading house of leaves which is to say this is probably the most horrific book i've ever read even if its not in that genre
