I did not read or practice all of this as one discipled strongly in an artistic faith community where I learned to be practice reflection & rest as part of being, as one who is created in the image of a loving God & that I too am a creator & I too deserve rest. I have learned through the years to love God, self by pouring into me 1st, then to overflow to the world around me with my giftings.

Just finished Ch 8 & OMG: how rotten & inhumane our judicial system & industrial prison complexes are…innocent until proven guilty my butt. How cruel we can be to one another.

So far I like it & is based in my former hometown. The storyline reminds me of me & my husband who moved away from family at 22 to never live in that state again & of the nephew who moved out to us at 15 years old & became our son.

54% in. Simple yet profound when truly taken in. It reminds me of HD Thoreau’s writing, crisp images placed down in ink with intense meaning in-between.

I am reading this for a bookclub being led by someone I am getting to know & to this point, truly admire & hope it grows. This is one of their favorite works hence I made a point to read & glad that I am. I cannot wait to discuss it with them.
