Ich hab gerade den Teil gelesen, in dem Franz über seine Schwestern erzählte. Wie eine das Ebenbild der Mutter wurde, die andere sich fühlte wie er, aber auszog und glücklich wurde. Dann über das Judentum, das der Vater nur bedingt ehrte.
Wie Franz ihm ein Buch gab, um zu signalisieren wie er ihre Beziehung empfindet aber der Vater sich über den Vegetarismus lustig machte…

Es ist schön Kafka auf deutsch lesen zu können. Ist glaube ich sogar mein erstes deutsches Buch seitdem ich tracke. Das Buch ist bis jetzt sehr emotional. Ich finde Kafkas Denkweise angenehm. Auch wie er sich trotz allem, auch probiert in die Rolle seines Vaters zu versetzen.
Geweint habe ich auch schon, etwa als er angefangen hat von seiner Mutter zu erzählen. Das einzige was einwenig stört sich die langen Sätze.

Nooo. Why does fall break have to be over? I just found out that she’s Constantine’s (the were who lead the cult) is her father. You know, the one who kidnapped Koens father to lure in his mother and klled them both. Yeah… that’s great. And now her aunt wants to use her as breeding machine for her brothers heir ahhhhh. Ew ew ew.

She’s not dying, she’s just horny. Lol.

Oh my god. Here I was thinking he’d help her with her fever. Nope. Needless to say how DAMN sxually frustrated Koen must be by now.

Selena actually managed to get Koen to use her as bait for the vampyres AND get him a new haircut/shaving. She’s found out about his celibacy but damn they have tension.
The only thing that annoys me so far is that she’s immature and that Misery appears in every second sentence.

Uh. She’s got an terminal illness. She’s only got a few months left. But I feel like there’s more to it and probably a cure. Also, she switched to the Northwest pack and found out her Were father might’ve been from that pack too.

Strong start. I had a few „agh“ moments. Like when she almost got assaulted in the woods or when Koen said „Women belong in the kitchen“. (He didn’t mean it ig but damn)
But it’s a good sign I read 5 chapters straight up.

Ohhhh the anger issues

Boring as hell. The plot was boring as hell. And also, the gargoyle could’ve told the story from the beginning. Also, I feel bad for the weaver.
The abess is basically an old women, collecting dead freaking children, to use and discard them after 10 years.
And Sybil is dead? Supposed to be the next gargoyle or what? Uhhh

Why isn't it getting better... I'm so bored, I'd rather read my research book for my paper

Yeah I really couldn’t care less.
Don’t get me wrong, Rory is about the best thing in this book.
But his and Sybil’s “” chapters weren’t exactly picking me up.
I’m at the point where I read because I’m forcing myself to finish the book even though I don’t want to.

'“An entire branch of idleweed?” I quipped.
“Little sounds?” came his slow, mirthful reply.'
So he smoked away his brain when he met her and she... enjoyed herself to the thought of him.

That chapter gave me the greatest second hand embarrassment I've felt in a while.

The Omen drank them all? You wanna tell me that the abess feeds these girls springwater, to then sacrifice them like baked goods to the Omens so that they can... drink them dry?

I- That's simply diabolical

'I looked down at my hand. The marks from Rory’s teeth were still there.
... I lifted my palm. Put it to my mouth. Ran my lips over the indents.'

Can we not do... whatever was done here, with *biting* someone?!

She’s about to battle one of these Omens, in kill or be killed situation, to get answers about the other diviners. And while training, Rory almost kissed her.

If I’m honest, I’m not thrilled by the story right now. Sybil has joined the group to hunt down omens, but it’s been so. many. travel. stories.
Like I know they need to talk, get to know each other to give the characters depth and backstory, but I’m pretty bored by it right now.

There’s just no excitement in reading for me, this moment.

RORY

Rory just helped her escape Aisling and blew up some gargoyles while doing so.
They are now on the way to the Seacht with the bat gargoyle.
I reallly wonder what happened to the other diviners. The behaviour of One before she got taken was extremely weird. And the abess is just as weird.

After a quick (high) forbidden night in the city, the girls are back at Aisling. Rory lost a bet and has now to get divined. Six divined him but he left before she woke up.
Now, after she saw a moth as sixth omen, all of her ‘sisters’ are disappearing one by one.

Lollll Rory did not just get all the diviners high

The king’s got a bad omen, the diviners are named by numbers and the process of dreaming is very disturbing.

Difficult to get into - dnf with possibly to continue later (august ‘25)

Moved in together, started trying and married in a span of what? A span of a few months?

Always with the goddamn love language- just shut it indigo

HE BOUGHT A GODDAMN HOUSE?! RIGHT WHEN THEY STARTED BEING REALLY TOGETHER??! HHUHHHHH

“I want to have children with you.”
“I don’t believe that because that’s what I want, so I’ll put us through some kind of cheep third act breakfast.”

Eyyy he messed up, but girl how are you mad that after a month of relationship, he’s not jumping at the idea of having children?

No- don’t do this to me. Don’t add pregnancy trope or “trying” trope! PLEASE! They’ve been together for barely a month!
