I picked this book up on sale and thought it seemed interesting. Turns out it's a sapphic romance novel inspired by The Hunger Games. I'm liking the story so far, especially the dystopian atmosphere.

This book has me in a chokehold. Sooo good so far. Boy betrays girl, girl gets revenge. True lovers to enemies to lovers trope. I'm invested.

Told from the POV of two characters in different timelines. A woman returns to a house she lived in briefly as a child. A house significant enough that her father wrote a book about. Following his death, she goes to the house to discover the truth.

Oof. I can't stop reading this. Just gonna have to finish it. 🤷‍♀️

This book has no chill! It's one action packed scene after another. Love the setting and every character. You've got a morally grey anti-heroine who was trained to be a deadly assassin, royal family drama and war, an arranged marriage, an enemies to lovers plot, a home brewed revenge arc, and so so so soooo many secrets. Also, did I mention pirates?

Y'all should read this (it's on audible plus right now).

So excited to see where this books goes. The last book set it up perfectly. :)

This book started out on a surprising note. I can tell that Lara is going to be a ruthless queen, given what she's gone through to achieve her status.
