8/17– I liked the poem a little and the footnote a lot. 8/18– Blake! Loooove the melody of his verses. I really would love to read more of his works and perhaps a biography.

8/15– Macbeth sounds a little depressed in Act V there. Hmm maybe I should read some Shakespeare plays. I haven’t really read any since college. 8/16– I may be too tired to get this one. Or maybe I need to read the full poem to understand it.

I liked: August 10, 11, 12. Sonnet 18 by Shakespeare will always be that girl. I did not like so much: August 9, 13, 14 (14 was so close, but he rhymed “wind” and “mind,” and I can’t with that.

August 8th’s poem didn’t resonate with me much, but the footnote provided a new phrase I may adopt (at least as an inside joke with myself) : “I wished at times he would opalesce himself into an iridescent vision.”

Somehow I think I skipped a day unwittingly, because tonight I read August 5&6. How did I skip 5? Oh well. It was “Memory” by Yeats, and it did not make sense until the footnote explained it. And then it was full of yearning and heartbreak :( The 6th was “Song: To Celia” by Ben Jonson, and it was lovely. I find I frequently need a second or third read to fully grasp each poem. This book is so nice!

Isagi got OCD for real. Also I’m really enjoying the siblings’ side stories hehehe

August 2-3 I liked. August 4…eh. I was intrigued and the style was great, but idk if I can get behind Percy Shelly lol. I am curious about Prometheus now though.

This book is so refreshing. What are the gift economies around me? Are my decisions geared towards general reciprocity and mutual flourishing? Or a scarcity mindset? Am I keeping wealth in motion and cementing mutual bonds? Am I storing meat in my brother’s belly? And when can I host a potlatch?

Oh no no no no no. I was not expecting to meet up with THIS guy. Also what accent is the narrator doing for the Ionians?? I cannot place it, and it seems to be different for every character- like French/Scottish/South African/Australian/Kiwi all rolled into one. I even considered like Russian or an Eastern European for a second lol.

Okay now things are getting interesting. The stakes are so high bro!

Ohhhh THATS the girl in the tower! Lots of “struggles of womanhood in medieval Rus” feels in this chapter. But Vasya…not everyone can live as you. And even in the ways you are right, you are still lacking wisdom.
