So far, so good, I think.. I feel like I appreciate this book more than the first one. I'm hoping part 2 really goes into the lore of the wards and the history of what really happened. What happened to the second prince? Did he follow? Will the general follow her daughter? War is here so what happens next?..

Although I'm having a hard time getting through this book, it's beautifully written. The characters all are so individually different and interesting. I'm curious to see how they all are released, escape, or die later. I feel so bad for Gen and what he's having to go through translating for everyone. He must be tired..
