This book is already meeting my expectations— I had hoped it would reflect similarities between one of my favorite books “The Invisible Life of Addi LaRue”. A mystery wrapped in cursed magic. So far, so good!

Not a book you can get easily distracted from. No mindless reading here. At the first few pages, I was concerned I might not be able to keep up with the Austen; however, I may have under estimated my few seasons of watching Bridgerton. They may have done one good thing and helped me envision the flow of conversations better here. Eager to keep reading!

Needed another sweet and easy listen. Narration is a game changer for audio books and miss Patti is the cherry on top!

Can barely justify putting it down and not pushing through to the end. If only if sleep wasn’t essential.

Frances has arrived back home to surprise her parents, and I am not mentally prepared for this next section of the book. Fearful that the treatment she going to receive may be worse than her experience in Vietnam. Putting it down and turning on a happy show to give some space…wish me luck!

If it isn’t obvious, this book is captivating. I haven’t even reached the half way point, yet the writing continues to jolt the story of Frankie’s service in Vietnam forward at a rapid pace. I can’t even predict what will happen next in the long scheme of things which I feel is appropriate as Frankie has to take it one day at a time, too.

Sister recommendation, and the audiobook’s voice actors aren’t too shabby! Keeping me company on my holiday travels
