why must every scene in this book be so hyperbolized and dragged-out so unnecessarily? and olive's awkwardness and ineptitude with anything resembling dating is SO uwu-I'm-not-like-other-girls performative. olive is a neckbeard wearing a fedora stammering while she speaks to the opposite sex. it's not endearing. it's painful. also, again, how is a SCIENTIST unable to DEDUCE anything!

this book requires you not only suspend your disbelief but also suspend all logic. how do *scientists* possess 0 deduction skills?
taking this from RYLO fic to OC flops bc without the adam driver context, Professor Carlsen’s a wet lettuce. how is she NOT able to tell Carlsen is the guy she spoke too in the beginning!?! she goes on and on about how unordinarily huge they both are but doesn’t connect the dots….?

all I have to say it LEIGH BARDUGO, HOW DARE YOU!?!?!? i wait *years* to read this after finishing six of crows because it was so good, i didn’t want to finish the series. and THIS IS WHAT HAS BEEN WAITING FOR ME!?!? THIS!?!?!?! when I say I threw the book across the room that is not an exaggeration. I will still be giving this book 5 stars but know I emotional trauma has been inflicted. MY HEART.

Bree is insanely annoying with her wishy washy shit. Take the oath or don’t, stop making the decision then backing out like a coward. So irritating, I’m sure this book is going to be about 100 pages longer than it has to be since Bree can’t stand on business.
