A fantastic snapshot of a melancholic moment all centred around an inanimate object

A magnificent, mythological, allegorical story about quotidian blackness. As much a cautionary tale as it is revenge thriller. "Delia's habitual meekness seemed to slip from her shoulders like a blown scarf. She was on her feet; her poor little body, her bare knuckly hands bravely defying the strapping hulk before her.”

Story about poverty and wealth gap. The characters were a bit hyperbolic/ obnoxious. My favorite line: "Imagine for a minute what kind of society it is in which some people can spend on a toy what it would cost to feed a family of six or seven... I think that this is not much of a democracy if you ask me. Equal chance to pursue happiness means an equal crack at the dough, don't it?"

This was just okay. The main hero has a lot of character and the tone of the writing feels real. Women in competition with each other find a mutual respect in the heat of battle. I think it’s an interesting story if read through the lens of fugativity as a strategy. I think it’s also interesting that the internal dialogue of the squeaky felt so clear.

Interesting take on strategy. Interesting because of Kanye’s use of confederate flag & white lives matter T-shirts. It’s also interesting because if the use of “nigga” in the black community. Almost like capitalist absorption. Subversion, absorption, reversal.

- Paladorian always say we because they have no personal identity. It’s a cel linked together with other cells spread across the galaxy. Doesn’t even have his own name.
