Part 1: Welcome to Tartarus

I forgot how much Lyra swears. And how stubborn she was. And I miss the Crucible.

I think I just miss the first book.

Part 1: Adventure in the Electric Night

Very interesting concept. I prefer the idea of Book of Doors, but this one still should be interesting.

Magda… not a fan. For such a secret Society, she is way too careless. And incredibly impatient. Pretty annoying.

Chapters 41-45:

What an exceptional climax. Heartbreak, joy and a sense of understanding. What more could you ask for.

Chapters 36-40:

Holy smokes what a twist!!!

Very interested to see how this ends.

Chapters 31-35:

I’m just as lost, but just as interested.

But I would like it if I got more of Yute.

Chapters 26-30:

This alternate place we have been in for a while is actually pretty interesting. I’m surprised we got so much background information for it, given it’s a side world.

I would like to see where our other friends have gone though, and I wonder what more happens with Anne.

Chapters 21-25:

Things are getting very intense. Surely what happened to Arpix isn’t true right?

But hopefully this mist edges the book in a more positive direction.

Part 4: Dust

Things are wrapping up and I’ve never been more excited.

But I do have a fair amount of questions, and I don’t know if I just wasn’t listening properly, or it was never explained.

But anyway, Silo 1 is much cooler than Silo 17.

Chapters 16-20:

Poor Anne, having to be dragged into all of this when she had absolutely no need to be.

Also this Livira POV is so intense and I’m loving it.

Chapters 11-15:

I’m enjoying seeing the king struggle, but what is actually going on in Arpix’s perspective. I’m very lost.

Evar is screwed. Livira is also screwed but not as much. And Yute, actually, he’s as good as can be.

Chapters 6-10:

The history of the Library?

I feel like this amount of Lore was necessary in book 2 compared to book 3.

But this is awesome so far.

Part 3: Home

I don’t think anything major happened except for the chaos is Silo 1. Silo 17 and 18 are just… I don’t even know anymore.

Bit bored.

Up until chapter 50, and I am disgusted with what I’ve just read. It’s always the end of a part that drops something massive.

Chapters 1-5:

Thank you Mark for putting a recap in the beginning of this book.

Although I did forget how disorienting this book gets.

I’m very interested in how involved one of our new main characters (I think?) will be throughout the finale.

Chapters 81-Epilogue

I’m lost.

Chapters 71-80:

This ending is coming sooner than I feel it should. I hope it’s not rushed.

Chapters 61-70:

Out of all the belittling pet names we have heard in this book (Love, sweetheart, sunshine), why on earth did JLB have to give the best male character the worst one 😤😤😤

P.s. who would’ve thought the lesser plot would have the greatest revelations.

Chapters 51-60:

Kinda mad it’s only beginning to heat up now, and not 20 chapters earlier.

Except for Gigi. She’s busy dealing with tape, beards and tackling, not in that order.

Chapters 41-50:

Nahhh. No.

Great challenges recently.

But why is HE here????

Chapters 31-40:

Verrryyyyy interesting?

Love Gigi, and contrary to my past feelings of this series, starting to love Grayson 😳

Chapters 21-30:

If I have to read another “tell me to (insert demand from Rohan here) one more time and I will (insert mild, not worrying threat)” again from specifically Savannah, I will strain my eyes from all the rolling they are doing.

Other than that, I feel like the mysteries and tasks in this phase of the game are not as technical as the last one. I was hoping it would be harder.

Chapters 11-20:

The excessive use of “love” and “sunshine” is really bothering and annoying me. Too creepy for my liking.

But I’m glad we’re still have Gigi perspective, she’s too fun.

Chapters 1-10:

This series is so easy to read. Mystery is always fun, and so are character relationships.

Except Avery. She can always have less page time.

Chapters 21-24:

This book has been written to tear at the heart of its readers.

Chapters 17-20:

Conor Conor Conor…

This book is teetering on the edge of disaster and heartbreak. For me and the characters.

I knew that Cass Claire writes her characters well, I’ve commented on this before. But it’s not very often that I feel exactly what the characters are feeling. Especially on both sides of the board.

Chapters 13-16:

Wow wow WOW. Now that was unexpected.

Antonetta deserves so much that she never has. The most unfortunate character in the book by far.

Lin needs to… keep her feelings a bit more inside. It may ruin a lot.

And Conor… needs to keep doing Conor things.

Chapters 9-12:

I am loving the double sided stories of Lin and Kel. You never know what’s going to come calling next.
And the perspective changes are really well written. They go back in time from the other perspective so that you are fully caught up on what goes on.

P.s. Artal is still an asshole.

Chapters 5-8:

Wow. I really like princess Anjelica. Beautiful, smart, and knows a whole lot more than anyone is supposed to. What more do you want in a character.

Lin’s story, she’s in a very big pickle. Which Prince will she choose?

And then there is Artal. Yuck. Disgusting man.

Part 2: Outside

I don’t really like the “kids” but damn this section was so sad, in so many ways. Silo 18 is genuinely screwed.

Silo 1 on the other hand, I don’t really know how to feel here

Part 1: The Dig

Politics and lots of perspective jumping. I’ve enjoyed it so far, and am very interested in what happens in Silo 1.

Chapters 1-4:

I forgot how many characters this book had.

I thought I would get slowly led into it, but instead I get thrown into royal chaos and spies and death.

And then I realised, this is the Chronicles of Castellane. Tsk tsk tsk what was I thinking
