A great writer always, mostly, needs to do something that has nothing to do with writing, or so it seems, but that thing they are involved with is the very place in which they write; while farming, a poet is writing. Writers go to parties, great writers do something else.

tell me why the norwegian translation of breats and eggs is 150 pages meanwhile most other editions of it are 400-500 pages? are we missing something here or is it a format thing? i know there are always differences between publishers and such but this one is so severe lol

I was speeding through this before work today, did not want to put it down! So obsessed with these characters, and now I'm convinced I gotta just keep reading through Sarah Waters books when I'm done, especially since I loved Fingersmith so so much as well :')

i was sitting on the beach with goosebumps from the wind and telling myself i'm foolish for insisting on going down there just because the sun came out for 5 minutes, anyway i couldn't make myself go home quite yet because i was that drawn into giovanni's room from the very first pages, and it was so worth freezing a lil bit over!!

I'm already enjoying this so so much. On one hand I was thinking I haven't been giving it the attention it truly deserves by reading it in my sleepy state right before going to bed. On the other hand, maybe that time is actually ideal, being tired and vulnerable with my defenses down, a short story can truly reach out and punch me in the gut like it's supposed to
