I didn’t realize this was a memoir until I started reading it. I just got it from the list of Oprah’s book club books. I can tell I will not be able to put this down.

This is VERY different than the first 3 books in the series!

A third (I think?) reread for motivation before my next race!

Slow and steady… picking this up and reading a few pages at a time when I think of it!

“A fragile belief that the agony of consciousness was worth the miracle of being alive.”

This book is SO STUPID! And I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve literally read the title “back in the game” - it is over 6 times! I’m tempted to give up, I hate it so much.

I had to look up when this was published because it is DATED - land lines, answering machines, and almost 40 year old character saying “20 somethings live by their phones”… published in 2007. It makes sense now at least lol

This was an “always available” audiobook from my library. I started listening, and it was… UNBEARABLE. I got it without a wait as an ebook, this one will absolutely not work as audio only.

Back to my old “book club” and they’re behind. So I stopped and now have to wait for them to catch up to our agreed upon stopping point!

“The quickest way to kill a man’s will to live, is to present him with his hearts desire.”
