Book 2 in banned book readings

This is the start of my goal to read the 100 most banned books.

For a book that is deeply distressing, the prose and diction that describes Offred, her anguish, and constant awareness of wrong is incredible to read. Fantastic writing, but now unfortunately too realistic — what is intended as a book that will sit heavily in your mind both while reading and for a long time after, has the current energy of an event that I now feel is impeding rather than a thought experiment.
