some people would say this is an homage, and to them I say you're wrong. This book has NO cross over with Dune. And to those that say...

...that she'd forget what inspiration meant and just reduce one of the most whacky and bonkers but developed out features of Dune, to what is entirely an aesthetic. Like, literally just changed names "it's a mineral called violodrite" and it makes their eyes turn purple from excessive use. They have it on EVERYTHING on the isle. VIOLEDRITE???? ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? how could she have possibly come up...

not that it doesn't have good elements, but as a whole, this is not good and some phrases in the chapter 48 scene were enough to make me physically recoil.
