I'm officially #notsold on this being set in the 1920s

I’m not sure if I’m sold on the necessity of this book being set in the 1920’s

First book I've read in a while where the MC was a full-blown adult, and let me tell you, it is the most refreshing thing in the world. Fayette, 45-year-old woman, I LOVE YOU

First of all, the rate at which I’m finishing this book is scary. Second of all, “I will not be gaslit by a man with a skeleton tattoo. I’m better than this…” (269). Alexis, sometimes you are so iconic, and I love it. Truly, the definition of “to be cringe is to be free”.

Perhaps you mean American Sign Language, fuck you! Rereading and I do think it is incredibly apparent that Winston is number one projector and displacer of the century. Is this probably all hindsight bias? I’ve been poking around some reviews where people hate Baker, and I truly just think some people can’t fathom internalized homophobia. Hate is hate is hate is hate, yes you are still hurting people even if you yourself are queer, but the conversation does become more nuanced when that hate comes from another queer person. I’m interested to see how Hannah handles this.
