Hello yes, I AM reading this because Kurt from Glee wrote it, but it's cutesy so far. Is the MC annoying? Yes. She is also a child. I am also 21. I have to imagine how 9-year-old CJ would have enjoyed this book

Mostly noting this so i remember. But ranting to kayla made me realize one of my BIGGEST gripes with this book is that it’s such a wattpad ff in the way that it is CONSTANTLY trying to force plot & relationship development and character traits. Sure jasper has a cardboard cutout of himself but in action? He is a VERY selfless person

This plot is so nothing, but I admire the author for desperately trying to make it something

ONE MORE THING! WHY is every teenager transmasc person blessed with the fortune of having top surgery as a minor?? So based on this characterization, I’m miserable all the time but I’m also supposed to be entirely medically transitioned at SIXTEEN? This shit is so unrealistic! Why is there no love for trans people at the beginning of their journey? For trans people that don’t want to medically transition?

Hello I’m already back. I’ve figured out why I hate Charlie: I’m sick and tired of reading books where trans characters are miserable all the time. Let this kid live a little and have fun. I too am miserable all the time but I want to read for escapism and to imagine a world where I am NOT

I get charlie is the main character and all, but literally NOTHINGGGG so far has made me like him. Jasper is so sweet and Charlie is such a dick to him

If I took a shot every time an author made a comment about how UnRuLy and uNtAmAbLe a character’s curly hair is, I would be so dead from alcohol poisoning. I would have been dead in middle school. Why do they hate our hair so much jfc (probably racism) (I say this as if I didn’t literally shave my head bc I hated doing my hair)

Did not know this book was enemies to lovers (which I normally don’t like), and I fear I’m already sold on Emery and Ambrose. They’re the perfect foils to each other, and I’m so intrigued to see how this continues to play out. ALISTAIR REEVES TAKE ALL OF MY MONEY!!

Ronan and Adam’s first kiss is going to make me throw up everywhere. The rest of this book better be them falling in love and getting married + random chapters of Henry and Noah living their little lives (afterlife in Noah’s case)

Such a weird thing to be nitpicky about, but one of my least favorite tropes is “Don’t be offended if my pet/child hates you, they hate strangers…. WHAT?!?! THEY LOVE YOU AND YOU’VE ONLY JUST MET?!?!” Could you lay it on any thicker that there’s eXpLoSiVe ChEmiStRy between the two MCs, and they’re destined to be together?

I think I have to embrace MCs being a little insufferable if I want to get through any book these days. Emmy’s certainly meant for Talia though; they’re both kind of the worst. I’m LOVING the fantasy elements though! I love a good witch town!!

Finally, we reintroduce the fact that Adam is deaf in one ear. This is such a weird thing for me to be hung up on, but it happened and was never spoken about again, which makes no sense for it to have happened in the first place. Disabling a character for plot convenience then never actually addressing how their disability affects their life is a little icky… but alas it returns!

One day I’ll stop giving live page by page updates, but that’s not today. PLEASE stop reexplaining plot points!!! I know who people are! I know what the ley line is!! It’s the THIRD BOOK IN THE SERIES
