I’ve been poking around some reviews where people hate Baker, and I truly just think some people can’t fathom internalized homophobia. Hate is hate is hate is hate, yes you are still hurting people even if you yourself are queer, but the conversation does become more nuanced when that hate comes from another queer person. I’m interested to see how Hannah handles this.

Very sad to see one of my least favorite things about Hitchhiker’s guide to the galaxy make an appearance in 1984: infodumping about your world instead of skillfully world building throughout the novel. Why am I reading a book within a book?!?
