Ooh I love this. A breath of fresh air - fantasy that isn't dweeby (no offense to fantasy dweebs). Alex is a mainish character that you actually identify with - she's not meek, knees not knocking, not incapable of taking care of herself. She's a fiend and I love her.

Really enjoying this. Actually laughably funny. "Are you aware that big tits are considered rude?" And the "I could use a mink dishrag for my Hamptons beach house." Good shit!

I've not read a book this voraciously and with such genuine interest in a long time! Since I was a kid maybe. I am buh-lown back. This writer was perfect - flawless like Annie could be.. if she just used her head and grew into her potential... And maybe changed her hair..

This is too densely written - it's.. hard...

Oh this is a page-turner. All the characters are clearly written, I can almost see them all. And I feel the creepiness of these two idiotic motherfuckers who killed this family. But is there more to the story that hasn't been shown right out the corner at this point in the book? A twist would be cool. Next, I'm going to read a book someone wrote about Harper Lee and Truman Capote - "Capote in Kansas: A Ghost Story".

I'm hooked at this point. I keep trying to look through the writing and see Truman though. But it doesn't hinder the story Much. I'm just not in the palm of his hand/wrapped around his be-ringed finger. I don't trust his facts and also don't trust the facts he was given. This doesn't keep me from enjoying things when I have this veil of extra [ir]relevant layers - contexted context. I enjoy the picking apart.

I didn't finish it. 3/4 way through or so, and I felt it wasn't going anywhere. but I'm sure it was. but I wasn't gonna go with it.

This book is sexy.. the little paperback feels excellent in my hand. I'm psyched for this story just a few pages in.

This is a real cutie. Sadly quirky, yet meaningful to me. Every "weird" and "anxious" perspective, I can fully believe in.

Don't want this to end, it's too good. And the pages of this copy from the library got wet a little from some borrower at some point and they're crispy and nice. Love this. I just turn the pages. (Story's so good. Author's writing, the phrases she's conjured. Freaking beautiful!)

This, I don't want to put down. It's well-written but just enough poetic flowery-ness to make me hear the author's distinctive voice. It's about siblings and their childhood of abuse - but now they're grown and how have each fared since being rescued from their weird-religious and sick parents? It's good, looking forward to getting back to it.
