I lowkey like Reva more than the protagonist

I’m getting peeved

tbh narrator is sooo annoying

The writing is so simple yet so full of detail

I don’t like the third story so far, just seems like a stuck up prick who cares way too much abt his appearance and uses women to make himself feel good abt himself. From what I’m seeing so far the entire purpose of the book is to depict the ugly side of mental illness? I definitely like how Mosgfegh isn’t romanticizing the behavior by describing the behavior grotesque? Ugh! I’ll have to read further!

Mr. Wu, a little weird story? I didn’t really like it to be honest there was only one funny part which was the bus stop scene, other than that the entire story creeped me out!!!! Which is crazy? Maybe this is Moshfegh’s way of commentating on strange men who developed unhealthy obsessions with women?

Thus far, the first short story was an interesting one. While the woman made me annoyed because of the way she portrayed herself as a pessimist, like girl just get up? (Makes sense considering the title) i could see myself in her in a way. She complains about her job yet when she gets drunk she appreciates her job and cries. She is just a woman who wants to better herself yet, she is unsure where exactly to begin.

Lowkey good read for when ur waiting for the bus. Will keep this in my purse.

I love the way she writes
