WHY OH WHY does he call her "buddy."

I am drowning in how wrong that word is for their dynamic. It doesn't fit at all.

The audiobook voices are not.... my favourite haha. And I'm wondering when the two leads are going to finally hit it off. It's a bit slow.

Love it so far!

After the ending of the first book, I was ready to jump right into the horror of a post-apocalyptic thriller, but this has been a slow beginning in order to set the stage for the world years after the initial event that caused a permanent blackout. We're finally starting to see where a major conflict point may exist to propel our characters toward action.

So far this feels like the perfect set up for a murder mystery. I'm guessing that's.... not where it's going. But I now know the kind of murder mystery I'd like to read. Haha

Where is Gilbert.
Why are we only able to read Anne's letters, and not Gilbert's replies??
And why on earth are we omitting the romantic parts of Anne's letters?
And it must be this particular audiobook (narrated by Tara Ward), but every single old woman sounds exactly the same and boasts the same personality. I definitely think I'd enjoy reading this one much, MUCH better.
