I actually am liking this, but I think: 1) I started it when it wasn’t really the genre I wanted to read at the time and 2) other books kept happening and I just haven’t circled back yet. So. I’ll finish it at some point…

I’m kind of bored. It reads like bad YA so far and the characters are blah, but I’ll keep going for a little longer before I give up.

I actually really like it. I don’t know why it’s taking me so long to finish it.

Re-reading before watching the adaptation.

Hot take: A romance novel should not be more than 360-ish pages, y’all. It’s becoming a problem. Romantasy gets a pass because of world building, but even then it shouldn’t be more than around 100 extra pages. I just came across a Christmas contemporary romance that was 509 pages (paperback). Why?! I guaran-damn-tee you the conflicts get so redundant you end up skimming the last 150 pages.

I started this in October and just picked it back up…
