I find her comparisons of racism to sexism really annoying bc shes basically saying everyone takes racism seriously but they don't take sexism seriously..........

hmmm I disagree with the argument that the polarisation of mankind is due to the male sexual model. yes patriarchy is the oldest form of oppression but I don't think that necessary means all form of discrimination have divulged from sexism tbh

this may be ome one of the hardest book to get thru, the violence inflicted on 6 year old hibo is acc so insane that I can never read few more pages at a time. I can't believe FGM is a practise in the 2026. Purity culture is acc the root of so much extreme misgony. I a finding it so hard not to think of her family as evil bc I know the intent is not but I find it hard to comprehend people think FGM is reasonable..

I feel faint reading the descriptions and I am barley 10 pages in. FGM is such a barbaric crime against humanity

reading the reviews of this book is almost as interesting as reading the book itself, it seems to have brought very polarising views

i like how she addresses that even though women are the givers of life, importance and significance have been given to men for their ability to take life. It's a very interesting juxtaposition.

i am only on ch4, Julia's fox has had insane life, i dunno how she still alive.

Nabi story was so interesting and what happend to mr wahdati and nila is so sad. Also i loved Nabi and Mr Wahdati friendship, they were deffos platonic soulmates.
