Book is great so far, but I just got totally shocked by the fact that Christianity Islam and Judaism exist canonically in this world? Even though there are canon demons and magic and specific magical people everyone knows about and they work in very specific ways that I don’t think any of those religions would be able to accept…maybe that’s just me though? I’m definitely not one to judge that choice

I’ve wanted to read this FOREVER. Heard my favorite book reviewer say it’s like six of crows but better and I’ve been searching for this ever since. Nobody can describe how excited I am, my expectations are definitely far too high.

I don’t really know why I love this book, to be honest there’s not much that’s within my personal interests or usual taste, but I’ve had a lot of fun so far

I’m so excited to start reading this, I don’t know how I feel about Pratchett’s books yet, but I’ve been waiting forever to get my hands on this

This seems like a book I’d absolutely hate, but I quit Moby dick halfway through (I’ll come back to it someday) so I’m going to read another classic if it kills me.

I know like conflict needs to be part of a relationship for it to be interesting if the series is like primarily about the relationship but I literally just find the conflict so annoying. I don’t even care. (I think I just don’t like fantasy romance 😭)

SPOILERS: I guess Aren’s character is being a whiny asshole? don’t know maybe I have weird standards but not cool…also I really don’t like the resolution to this. Why are we taking away the moral complexity when we’re only halfway through the book??? Lara was already like massively leaning towards the Ithacanian’s side…what’s the point of removing all the real conflict… I don’t get it???

Lara is my girl, but I feel like the bridge is more of a main character than Aren is. Even in his perspective he feels unimportant. Might just be a me thing, though.

Every time you think they’re going to be all romantic or something they start talking about the bridge again and I find that really unintentionally funny, I know it’s thematic and such though

This really reads like a YA but randomly they’ll describe characters being all turned on so I’m really wondering what is this going to be??? Also this is a fun read, not that deep, but it’s fun enough. I don’t care for romance, so my standards aren’t high.

I like that Cordelia is like-normal and communicative about her problems. I feel like you don’t see that a lot with YA protags and they’ll whine and complain for weeks before actually…talking and confronting someone?

This really doesn’t have much of anything in common with good omens other than the more hunurous take on the concept of demons and hell and that Fred sort of gives Crowley vibes and he’s trying to stop an apocolypse lowkey, , but I’m getting a younger, less complex, more American hood omens vibe. Like the difference between regular cheese and American cheese, except less bad. Does this make any sense??

I’m gonna be real, it feels like cheating to add this as a book I’m reading (especially considering the only other “reading” I’m doing is listening to the magnus archives) but this is really funny so I don’t care

Making slow progress, but the book is very good. I missed classic fantasy writing

Excited to read something a bit shorter after the commitment it was to read loveless and caraval so quickly, I liked the movie, and I hope I like Neil Gaiman’s writing style, because I’ve been eyeing Good Omens (and I like his tumblr). I want to get this finished before the weekend to finish my Goodreads goal (I’m six books behind schedule!)
