Had to give up this book, reads a bit juvenile and I find too many moments annoying rather than intriguing. I was not the target reader for this mess.

30% in and Chad is very annoying, he talks like a adolescent instead of bi awakened grown man.

Yikes, I just read a newer book by this author and was eager to read more from them. However, right off the bat I'm annoyed at the writing differences between the deaf MC and the hearing MC as they exchange texts. Does the author feel a deaf person can't learn grammar?

Continuity anyone? This author has yet to finish a car ride. Characters pull over for emotional chat, then once the chat is finished they have magically arrived at the destination.

“He chokes out a nod.”

This writing is laughable.

Writing or story still haven't improved. Rage finishing it at this point. A continued annoyance is the reference to text messages sent in the past as being heard rather that read. “Do you know how it felt to hear you say all those things?” ...you read the words on a screen.

Nearly halfway and Parker is still unlikable. I feel as thought the author is attempting to use his fathers passing as his vulnerability but its barely explored and really just mentioned in passing. There is little to no emotional impact from the story. It's excessively shallow.

Situational awareness, Parker after tinkering with Brandons car gets it to start again but they walk arm and arm back to the training facility, leaving the car running on the side of the road? It's moments like this that take me out of the story, because I'm like "whats going on?" Feels like the author is just rushing to the next chapter. Low writing quality.

This is one of the most cringe and juvenile books I've picked up this year. I read better stories during my high school fanfiction days.

I really enjoyed the first 2 books in the series, however this one has been a bit disappointing and boring.
