(cont.) Not saying that I don't think it is not all extremely uncomfortable to say the least, but I just don't really feel anything of the positive things described, it's like I can only emotionally tap into the experiences of being othered, the hostility etc. and because of that I have the impression that the communication between the book and myself is kind of noisy/patchy

So far I have very mixed feelings. On one hand, I feel like the story has hooked me now and I will have no trouble finishing the book this week because I want to know what will happen so badly, on the other hand, the tone of the narrative, the footnotes etc. are giving me an uneasy feeling that I am not sure proportionally reflects the characters' experiences so far.

- sorry, i forgot what the characters are supposed to look like, but after skimming through some reviews and also spoiling myself a little, i agree with someone else: amira def does not have red hair. if she had, in my opinion, the black/gold dress would be a crime. i picture her with varying shades of dark brown hair and grey-greenish eyes.
- everything else aesthetic is completely incoherent in my head idk

Ohh god why do I have to work and read so much other stuff, I want to know what happens next :(((

I’m starting to look forward to the next time I get to open this book, even though the intensity of suspense varies haha
