So far I have very mixed feelings. On one hand, I feel like the story has hooked me now and I will have no trouble finishing the book this week because I want to know what will happen so badly, on the other hand, the tone of the narrative, the footnotes etc. are giving me an uneasy feeling that I am not sure proportionally reflects the characters' experiences so far.

Not saying that I don't think it is not all extremely uncomfortable to say the least, but I just don't really feel anything of the positive things described, it's like I can only emotionally tap into the experiences of being othered, the hostility etc. and because of that I have the impression that the communication between the book and myself is kind of noisy/patchy
