Halfway through and there’s still no inn with only 1 bed

it’s only right that I’m rereading my original copy purchased at a scholastic book fair in 2011

ok ok I stand by what I said, the dialogue is still very much high-schoolers-written-by-a-grown-man, but looking beyond that some of my other criticisms have lost a bit of ground.

The absence of quotation marks doesn’t make it totally unreadable, but remains very off-putting.

I’m having a hard time rooting for a main character who is described as self-assured, but really seems to tie a concerning amount of her self worth to how she is treated by a man who is largely unremarkable, with the exception of his intellectual superiority complex and being good in bed.
