It is shocking how few moments of interesting dialogue and character establishment there are despite the fanservice-y vibes of these first couple chapters.

I’m around 2 hours into the audiobook, and as of now the mix of the beginning of this book and the entirety of the last book has made me wonder if this series was ever anything more interesting than a collage of marvel-esk quips pasted together in what is clearly a carefully constructed and mostly unnatural sequence of scenes obviously designed by a team and severely lacking in actual interesting content.
