With the rise of far-right and authoritarianism we have 1984,

couple this with policies and trends over abortion and feminism and we have The Handmaid's Tale....

Venomous Lumpsucker seems to be the (near-)future equivalent which we will refer to for the environmental crisis, biodiversity loss, AI-driven loss in human judgment, accountability & decision-making and lastly (but not the least), empathy.

Interesting but bit controversial by ch7... claiming something as objective truth but backing it up by quotes from someone else is not very convincing; especially for sensitive topics of identity and religion. Empirical evidence helps support those claims but they can be cherry picked themselves and packaged into a nice narrative to spund convincing (just applying the knowledge i learn from the book itself :))

Everyday after I pick up this book I notice it instilling a sense of positivity in me. Despite being a random collection of essays - from dr. Pepper to hailey's comet, there's this friendly and hopeful writing of the author that makes me truly feel relaxed and observe the world bit slowly, bit more thoughtful. It's the book version of watching a Ghibli movie. Immensely happy to have come across this :)

The kind of mental clarity and maturity he displayed at 16-22 is unmatched by many boomers today, let alone those in there 20s or 30s

The chapter on Marxism is elegantly explained; follows the KISS principal (keep it short & simple). So far quite an esoteric introductory book

So far 5/5, the writing is simple and easy to follow and the concepts are explained concisely
