I read the Macaw section. I didn't find it as interesting as the Whale section, but we do get a whole philosophical bit of excitement regarding the concept of beauty. And there was a few pages about bower birds. Bower birds are awesome.

Just finished the whale section, which was interesting. It had never occurred to me to ask or wonder what humans used for fuel prior to fossil fuels: they used whales! The author describes the human-like tendency for whales to congregate in families, caring for and communicating with one another, drawing much sympathy for them, before hitting you over the head with the details about whale killings.
