Already sad I have to finish this at some point 😩

4.5 ⭐️ Yaa Gyasi is def one of my favorite authors by now. I was curious to see how she’d follow up after Homegoing and wow, her pen is just strong.
I do wish we would’ve seen a bit more reflection from Gifty towards the end about how she’s distanced from people for so long? I think Gyasi did that with comparing her rships but woulda liked to hear from Gifty herself!!

Clover is 100% an Aquarius moon. I liked that while this book talks about death, grief, and loneliness, not once did it feel too heavy! If anything I found it so full of life, hopeful, and wholesome which I think can be hard to achieve given that Clover is a whole death doula!

This is on the DNF list unfortunately. I was a few chapters in but the writing was a bit too cringe and juvenile for me. I wanted to like this because I enjoyed Love in Color so who knows, I might pick it back up eventually!
