Just incredible understated detailed alive characters, the real ex-MI6 spycraft, and a deep understanding of people in awful situations. Le Carre is excellent, read his breakout “the spy who came in from the cold” to see if you should read this trilogy (answer: yes)

Look up this guy on YouTube, so he can read you excerpts from the hobbit or teach you how to stuff a pipe in his office. One of my favorite living poets and Christian thinkers
