Eugh, I hate it it.
It's been awhile that loathed a male lead as much as I do deceitful Max.

Re-read, v.a. wegen Der Affe welches kürzlich verfilmt wurde und an dass ich mich kaum noch erinnert habe. Leider keine besonders erwähnenswerte King story, die durch zuviele Rückblenden ausgebremst wird und welche ich mir kaum as Film vorstellen kann.

A bit stuck here.
Love the first book, found the second book not as fun to read although more compelling written, but the third is currently just doom, and gloom and violence, and characters making bad decisions ... No me gustó.

Slow, slow, slow going.

I feel there's a good idea there, and I like that Charrette's Mechs do not behave like they are escapees from an Anime movie, but the story is too ambitious for his writing skills I fear.

Re-reading because it's really good comfort food. :)

The Times apparently thought the book to be "Sexy, funny, blisteringly intelligent", but I fear my impression so far is more like "Vulgar, faintly amusing at times, and tyring", the latter because the story doesn't seem to move anywhere, it's as if the author wants to force us to sympathize with the hero by making us feel world weary ennui from tying to get through his writing.

Pretty bad, tbh.
The author's absolutley, annoyingly in love with adverbs, and his dialogues are no better.

Hate to say it, but this is some subpar work by Clarke.

"And he kissed her. Kissed her again and again.
Deep, wet, hungry kisses rained down upon her. Kisses thar raped and ravished. Kisses so tender that she strained and ached to have more."

Kisses that ... raped?
Way to ruin the mood.

Die Charaktere sind ziemlich unausstehlich und Dick lässt sich fast hundert Seiten Zeit bevor endlich etwas nennenswertes passiert in der Geschichte.

Another re-read to end the year.
I kind of forgot how much I like Charlie in this book. There's something about her exuberant nature, when she greets Lizzie with an enthusiastic “You’re here! You’re finally here! At my house!“ that makes her instantly simpatico.

This could have used an "animal cruelty" warning, no kidding.

Re-read to get back on top of things before diving into the next two.

Mostly this collection is not mine, I'm afraid.
But G. Benson's story has all the cute and feels, making up for a lot of the rest. <3

Das Beste was ich gerade zu dem Buch sagen kann, ist das nicht mehr weit zum Ende ist. Der Autor will uns eine Mischung aus Klamauk und Horror präsentieren, aber scheiter dabei leider zumeist an beidem.

Klingt wie Andromeda meets Nightwatch, lässt sich aber leider nicht besonders gut an. Soweit ist mir der Schreibstil zu gezwungen "lässig".
