Hunger was a masterpiece of horror comedy. It's one of my favorites in the anthology so far.

Wingless was horrifyingly brilliant, and I was cheering for the protagonist by the end.

I've been slacking on this year's reading due to personal reasons, so I am happy to be getting back to this book. Honestly, I would have finished it tonight had I not forced myself to go to bed. I at least had to get through the first Théâtre des Vampires bit because it was THAT good.

I am thoroughly entranced by this book. The philosophical nature of Louis' tale is almost impossible to peel away from. Indeed, how different from us can a vampire be?

This has been on my TBR for a while, and I am thrilled to read it. The foreword was fun and informative while the first tale, Kushtuka, a horror short story by an Inuit author living in my home region of New England, swept me off my feet.

As promised, I am giving this series one more chance. The beginning shows the hints of decent pacing and -methinks- Dresden is starting to show some inklings of character development. I hope this holds. This is the book that everyone says lifts the series from the dismal slump of #2 and #3. We shall see.

Certainly better written than Fool Moon with some mildly entertaining bits; but let's face it, I've seen cardboard cutouts with more character growth than Harry Dresden. People say I should stick it out until Summer Knight. I will at least do that.

Parameter or perimeter?

Holy hell, why did I inflict this on myself?

Finished "The Repairer of Reputations. That was at least a decent story showcasing an unreliable narrator and the affect of the titular play on one's sanity.

Meanwhile, the excerpt from the play at the beginning of "The Mask" was about as frightening as a dachshund in a homemade ghost costume.

Finally found someone I could borrow this from so I didn't have to pay Rowling money.

Not sure whether I am going to mark this DNF this book or not. The world-building and magic system are phenomenal and the totally blunt criticism of imperialist influences on academia is refreshingly relevant and poignant. However, it is my personal opinion that each and every character could be replaced by a cardboard cut-out, which does not make for a very engaging plot.
