I want to highlight a passage that speaks volumes to me since I am a target loud supporter of having our local creole recognized for the language it is.
"Virgin Islands Creole if nothing else is a language that is quite performative, and, yes, we are speaking here of a language, and not of a "mere dialect" — this should not be such a radical, nor revolutionary position."
